Collective Impact & Community Building

The Gente Buena Foundation is dedicated to building community engagement around addressing complex challenges in the agave-producing regions of Mexico and celebrating our shared successes. We bring together the people closest to the work: local communities alongside like-minded brands, partners, and supporters who want a more equitable industry and a thriving local workforce. By creating spaces to listen, learn, and collaborate, we help turn shared values into collective action. And just as importantly, we make room to recognize progress , share stories, highlight community-led solutions, and celebrate the wins that keep momentum strong.

Día de Gente Buena: San Pedro de los Landeros and Los Angeles

As part of this effort, we host intimate gatherings of culture, connection, and celebration. In 2025, we gathered in both San Pedro de los Landeros, Jalisco and Los Angeles for our first two Días de Gente Buena.

In SPL, we brought the community together in celebration of our shared community-improvement efforts. The day was filled with music, food, and heartfelt words that reminded us why this work matters. Women led conversations about opportunity, families shared their hopes for the future, and children showed us what is possible when community comes first.

In Los Angeles, GBF brought together the Consul General of Mexico, friends, partners, and supporters at the Consul General’s official residence of Mexico (LA) to raise a glass to shared responsibility and ensuring that every bottle of agave spirits can represent care for the people and land that make it possible.

The Good Agave Pledge

Community building extends to the brands that depend on agave, too. Through the Good Agave Pledge, tequila companies commit to improving the economic and environmental challenges faced by workers in Mexico’s agave-producing regions: building prosperity, sustaining healthy ecosystems, and improving quality of life for farmworkers. Launched in 2025 with twelve founding brands, the Pledge turns shared responsibility into shared commitment, uniting companies that believe the people who harvest agave deserve to thrive alongside the industry they sustain.
