Bringing Medical Care to the Valley of Tequila

We’re implementing a proven pop-up medical care model in SPL with trusted partners at Point Washington Medical Clinic, Universidad de Guadalajara, and Centro Médico Virgen, built to expand across the Valley of Tequila.

Our first and primary goal is to meet immediate medical needs in SPL and surrounding communities through pop-up medical clinics spaced six months apart, with continuous virtual care in between. Ultimately, our long-term vision seeks to build a sustained medical care presence in the Valley of Tequila.

  • Meeting immediate needs: Pop-up clinics bring board-certified doctors, full diagnostic equipment, and medications directly to communities, with continuous virtual care between visits.
  • A sustained care presence: Virtual care becomes routine, chronic conditions are managed over time, and partnerships with local institutions deepen in preparation for expanded reach across the Valley.

Our First Clinic:
A Successful Pilot

In July 2026, we held our first pilot medical clinic and it was a tremendous success. Over two days, our medical team saw dozens of patients from San Pedro de los Landeros, El Medineño, and communities beyond. Many were sent home with months of medication for conditions that had gone untreated for far too long.

The clinic was made possible by an extraordinary team of volunteer clinicians and interpreters, and by our partners at Point Washington Medical Clinic, Universidad de Guadalajara, and Centro Médico Virgen, whose doctors traveled to volunteer their time and expertise.

The pilot proved what’s possible. This fall, we’ll return for a follow-up clinic and continue to build toward a much larger clinic in the future.

Why This Model Works

  • Proven expertise: Our clinical partners bring more than 40,000 volunteer hours serving uninsured communities. This isn’t experimental. It’s expanding a model that works.
  • Local trust: Partnership with Universidad de Guadalajara and Centro Médico Virgen keeps the program rooted in community familiarity and trust.
  • Immediate and lasting: We’re delivering care to SPL and neighboring communities now, while laying the foundation for a permanent medical care presence in the region.

Support This Work

The workers who built this industry deserve to thrive. Access to routine medical care is what keeps them healthy, keeps them working, and keeps their families whole. We’re building medical care in the Valley of Tequila from the ground up, and there’s much more to do.

Doctors are ready to donate their time. Every dollar funds medical care: clinic visits, diagnostics, medications, equipment. To learn how you can support the next clinic and the vision of a permanent hospital for the region, get in touch or make a gift.
